First Post

Since this is going to be a quilty blog, I thought I'd start with what I'm currently working on.

I decided that I wanted to do a traditional quilt, and hand piece and hand quilt the whole thing.  I actually had a dream about hexagons, and have been seeing them everywhere, so a Grandmother's Flower Garden it is.  I found a great tutorial at Bee in my Bonnet.  Of course, I have to figure out how in the heck to put the link on here.

Fact #1 about me:

I am technologically challenged, and have no idea how to do a blog.  We'll see how this goes.

Hexie Paper Piecing Tutorial

Ha!  I did it!

So here's my progress so far:

Little hexies all in a row.

I am using these, instead of cutting my own.

The beginnings of flowers for the garden.

Warning:  Be careful if you decide to start these little guys.  They are indeed addictive!!!!

I am also working on this puppy:

A finished quilt top.  The line is from Michael Miller.  Whimsy, I think?  BUT....

Currently my progress looks like this...

Because my sewing machine is doing this.  Not pretty.  Very frustrating.  She is at All Brands, hopefully getting all fixed up.
